Jay Marino started playing guitar at age 10 while quickly learning that he lived just blocks from a recording studio. As an intern/assistant engineer at the original Old Plank Sonic Laboratories, Marino learned how to record, arrange, and produce rock, punk, indie-pop, and jazz under the late Steve Jacula while still attending high school. Later studies at DePaul University brought Jay to Chicago where he began getting further work as an engineer and session guitarist.
Marino joined IV Lab Studios in 2007 after working with Lindsay Anderson, The Aluminum Group, Miracle Condition, and his own groups as an arranger, performer and audio engineer. Aside from his involvement with the studio, Jay Marino currently designs products for large guitar effects and amp companies while remaining active as a member of rock band AM Taxi.
